Types of Information

Some information arrives without you doing anything: standard web-server and analytics records covering IP address, device, browser, rough location and pages viewed. Other information arrives because you sent it — newsletter signups, comment fields, and email correspondence. A specific note for readers interested in Longcapsule: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.

Email Subscriptions

Email goes only to people who asked for it, verified by a double opt-in step. Each send includes an unsubscribe link and a postal address, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away.

Age of Readers

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where local law applies that age. This is an adult-facing site, and any children’s data that reaches us in error is deleted.
